About Course
This training module aims to equip educators with the knowledge and skills required to effectively teach language skills in diverse classroom settings. The module focuses on understanding the needs of diverse learners, implementing inclusive teaching strategies, and fostering a supportive learning environment to help all students develop strong language skills, regardless of their linguistic background. It covers key principles, practical strategies, and resources for teaching effective language skills in diverse classrooms.
The duration of the module is 8 training hours, including theory and exercises.
The module starts with understanding diverse learners, and educators will learn to recognize the linguistic and cultural backgrounds of students and understand the impact of language diversity on learning outcomes. It further covers the principles of effective language teaching and explores the communicative language teaching approach, differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, and ways to incorporate cultural relevance in language teaching.
Following this, the module also elaborates on strategies for teaching reading and writing skills, including scaffolded reading activities for language development, writing prompts and exercises to improve writing skills through theory and learning-by-doing exercises, and peer editing and feedback techniques for collaborative learning.
